CECLOR

Ceclor is a brand name for the antibiotic drug, cefaclor, it is also available under the brand name of distaclor.

Ceclor is a broad spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic. It has a wide and varied action against many different types of bacteria and is comonly used to treat chest infections, urinary tract infections and ear, nose and throat infections as well as infections of the skin.

It is safe to use ceclor (Cefaclor) during pregnancy but always consult your doctor first.

Cautions:

Cefaclor is not suitable for those individuals that are allergic to cephalosporins and penicillins. If you suffer from inflammatory bowel disease this may worsen the condition and may cause colitis. In older people with reduced renal function, thier ability to remove this drug from the body may be reduced, thus increasing sensitivity to Ceclor.

Side effects:

Occasional: diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, vaginal thrush.

Rarely: skin rash (discontinue treatment), antibiotic-associated colitis, blood disorders.

Dose:

Typical doseage for this drug is 250mg every 8 hours but your doctor will prescribe the dosage that is correct for you..
